Have you ever felt like you were the only person on the planet?

I'm not referring to "loneliness." What I mean is a feeling that you are literally the only person left in the world. I've had a few times when I was alone in my house for so long (a weekend or whatever) that I started to get a little paranoid & psychotic... fearing I was the only person left on earth. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm bipolar... but I just wondered if anyone else has felt this way & how you got through it.

I experienced being alone in our house for a long time but I never felt that way. I can't literally feel being the only person left in the world, maybe because we have so many neighbors. Also when I'm alone I'm fond of turning the TV or radio on, naturally you wouldn't feel that way because you see or hear other people. But of course I understand that it's not the same if a person is bipolar.

Lol. gwen. I do feel like i am the only person on the planet, and it always surprises me when i meet another person on the street. lol. I usually am a person that likes my time along, even tough my friends see me as a very social person. I just feel like this is the most enjoyable thing that i have. Being alone. Reading books, articles, reading. I can almost complain, that people disturb me. Lol. I have this weird combination of wishing to be a long, but people are usually always want my company. starnge thing. I never really felt what it is like being lonely. I pray for those moments that i can be along in the house for a few days and do what ever i want, but that never happens. In the moment my friends hear that the house is empty, they start coming, and even if i disconnect my phone for a few hours, they do think that somthing is broken with my phone, and that it is ok to drop by the house. I love them, but it is a total nightmare. Lol. But let's be serious for a moment. I think that everyone of us feels lonely for time to time, the question is if it makes him sad or scared or filled with fears, if that is the case, i really think, that he should get out of the house in those moments, and go to shop or visit friends, that would make him feel better.

That's what I always feel.... I will sleep all day if I was left home all by myself, I will get up when I'm hungry then go back to the bed....I will think about nothing but dreaming...It's really a happy time to eat and sleep.... Being the only person on the planet sounds horrible, but I never thought about that. You should go outside, take a walk or do something interesting, whatever you like.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have felt this, too. Thought I was going to go crazy. I am not sure how I got through it but somehow I did. I was only alone for a few hours when it happened. My kids were at school and my husband was at work. It is the most horrible feeling I have ever felt. I never thought about it having to do with bipolar but now that you say that perhaps it does. What did you do to get through it?

yes I do. All the time but nothing you can do about it. I just go and spend time with friends. or my family and that normally helps. But someties the feeling comes back once I am alone again.
