Mcdonald,KFC,instant noodles, how often do you eat these things?regularly or ramdonly?when you are eating these so-called drunk food,do you realize that you are taking only calories but not nutrition?i think in western countries, most young ppl dont care about that at all.they just eat whatever they like and lots of them have a bug in drunk food.
relatively Asian ppl and especially chinese are more health concious.we choose food that do good to our health.it's like Mcdonald or simple potluck,we prefer the latter.and whenever we got a chance to eat drunk food,we clearly realize what we are doing and tell ourselves no to do it again within how many days or weeks.maybe you'll think we are too hard on ourselves, but we're brought up to be health concious so its fine with us to eat less fast food like Mcdonald.
and do you cook healthy food urself at home after devouring too much drunk food?

I tend to eat a lot of junk but am not worried about the calories I take in as I could use the extra calories as I have never been able to gain anything for weight .
I do make healthy foods for my family but have never been a big eater and skip a lot of meals myself . I like my children to eat healthy and try to encourage them but am not health conscious for myself . I know it would be better for me if I was but I have always had a hard time eating and now have problems with my stomach making it harder for me to eat .
We don't eat much take out or anything like that as it is expensive so we don't have those issues to worry about :)

well i am indeed health concious but i do not worry to the extent of not eating junk food.i love eating junk food and i work out regularly so that i burn out the extra calories.it isnt that people from asia are mre conciouc about their health and those in the west are not.it all depends on the mindset of the person and it also depends on the way the family is brought up and their eating habits.i dont mind eating junk food but do see to that i have a well balanced meal too.

Nope, I am not at all health conscious when it comes to eating out and fast food.
This is because I am lucky in that when I was a child we had very little money so we had sweets once a week - a couple of packets but they were shared - and we ate out twice a year.
Eating out, even Macdonalds, is therefore ingrained in my subconscious as a treat, and I don't tend to have more than a dozen takeaways or Macdonalds, or eat out per year. So when I DO eat out I have anything I feel like at the time, confident that tomorrow I shall be back to being a good girl and restricting my sugar and fat.
I make as many meals as possible myself, and if you read the ingredients on convenience foods you will find that everyday convenience foods can be every bit as "junk" as a Macdonalds, even though it is the Macdonalds which gets the bad press.
However, variety IS the spice of life, isn't it?

I guess I'm fairly health conscious since I don't eat fast food but once every few months. All fast food is, is grease and calories (as you said). No fast food has any nutrition what so ever so I don't see the point in eating it. Many people here in the USA eat junk food all day long and don't think anything of it. If I eat fast food I eat Subway. It's lots healthier and still fast. Plus I'm not much of a meat eater. I have noticed that Asians are more health conscious, but that's how they were raised. Many Americans raise their kids to eat fast food because they have toys with the meals. I think in Asian countries fast food is pretty expensive. Someone told me $10 for a Big Mac. I don't think you are hard on yourself at all. You're doing yourself a favor by not eating that junk food. You have less risk for heart attack, stroke, blood clots, etc. I don't cook much, we do go out, but not fast food. We go to restaurants. Very good discussion.

thanx ur opinion counts.i love subway:P.we have it here but just a bit expensive like 20 or so each sanwiches so i cant have it often.sometimes i make myself tuna and cucumber sandwiches at home and they're reallyyyyyyy nice:).
yeah a big mac is about 10 but i think more and more chinese family can afford Mcdonald already.actually its cheap for most ppl living in my city.i seldom cook either coz my mom or dad or bf usually do that for me:P

We do both, we cook at home sometimes and eat out sometimes. We do eat fast food, but we have cut back drastically. Now if we try and just order take out, things like spaghetti, and subs. Those aren't necessarily the healthiest choices either but much better than mcdonalds in my opinion. But to answer the question, we do cook healthy SOME, but we really need to get better about it.

yes, i am definitely health conscious... i don't eat junk food very often and if i have to, it is because of emergency or i am too tired to cook... but it is very very rare... most of the time, i try to cook healthy food as i know that my body is my asset and i have to take care of it very well... i don't really want to get sick...

I love to cook healthy meals for my family everyday. I am very concious as to what I serve myself and my children. The only time we out JUNK food is once in awhile when we have had a good couple of weeks eating wise. If my children have had nothing but fruits and vegs and so on for two weeks...I do take them, and myself out for a treat....usually being McDonalds!!!

I eat McDonalds once in awhile. I know it's not good for me but every once in a while I have to give in. If I do that I tend to stay away from it longer and don't crave it as much.
As far as cooking at home for my family I do everything that I can to make sure I have a healthy and balanced meal. When it's time for us to all sit down to dinner I think it's very important to have a good meal. I'm not saying that every once in a while we don't have pizza or mac and cheese, but 90% of the time I like to make a healthy meal with all of the food groups offered and cooked in a healthy way.

You are what you eat- as the saying goes. Its actually good to have balance diet. McDonald is okay once a while. I dont really agree when you mentioned that the chinese are more health consious. Maybe their diet in terms of food menu is healty but the way these Chinese eat, it unhealty. I observed that the Chinese like to take supper. Isn't it unwise to eat before retiring to sleep?. Asian people practically love food. The Malays in Singapore and Malaysia, Philipines, Indonesians and perhaps some peranakans love to eat coconut base food. This is unhealty if you take it often. To sum up, eat moderately, exercise regularly and stay healthy.

you are right.our food menu is healthy so as long as we follow it and eat on time we can be very healthy.maybe thats why there are much fewer fat chinese ppl.yes lots of chinese like to eat nite snack, usually at 9pm or 10.but they dont really eat a lot at that time and some of them stay up late.personally i seldom have nite snack.
i know indian food is rich and strong.as for others, havent tried yet.but i think relatively chinese is health concious.

I am not a health concious person. When eating, i always choose the food that i like most. Not taking care of how much calories i would put in. For me, is eat first then decide later. If you are so health concious, you would have to miss out all the good food in the world. Isn't that a pity???

I agree with you about the empty calories. That's why my family make it a point not to eat on fast food chains and eat a decent meal of home cooked vegetables, fruits and fish. My mom is trying to make each of us her kids and my dad cut back on meat. But then there is the occassional emergencies when we really have to eat something or we'll die of starvation. Ahehehe. :D

I am enough health concious, and always care my diet a lot.
I do keep a watch on the meals & food I take.
The food must be vitamin rich as well as with controlled callories value.
The regularity in food habits & exercise keeps your health good is my experience.
I just obey the law as prevention is better than cure formula for good health.

At least I don't care about all these things. If any time I wanna eat noodles,i eat it.Pizzas,Burgers and other junk foods are my favourite.I don't care about what would happen if I continuousily eat them for a long time, because I work out every morning. That keeps me fit at least from being a baggy piggy. So my say is don't stop eating things U like but eat with being cautious.
