Looking back, the best advice that I got from my mother was, if I'm going to get married, I should have my own house first and that I should never think of having my wife live with her on the same house. From my father, I don't remember him actually giving me one.

I dont really remember any great advice I received from my mother. My father passed away almost 12 years ago, when I was 14. But his words are in my mind as if it was from yesterday. For me, the best advice I remember my dad giving to me was "Dont waste time. Time will never wait for you, you have to wait for time". He always reminded and make me realise the value of time, which I believe is the most important thing ! We all have our own duties to be performed in each stage of our lives. If we dont pay attention to those things and say to ourselves that "I will do it later", no doubt, we will definitely regret that later on in life ! One example in our student life will be if we dont prepare and study our daily lessons, we will fail in our exams and then we will feel bad for not studying when we were supposed to , right? Its same for every single thing that happen in our lives ! I know my dad told me lot of other things but the best one that will always be in my mind for the rest of my life will be this great advice regarding the value of time in life !

As they say, "time is gold", and indeed, I believe it is. The value of time can never be doubted. If we use time wisely, then we can do almost all that we desire, and for a young man such as yourself, time certainly is on your side. You do good in honoring what your father has told you. He will be very proud of you.

The best advice my parents ever gave me was to be financially stable before moving out, getting married, and having kids.

Much like what my mother told me. :-D Though it is one thing that I actually failed to heed and it is only now that I am trying to make come true. Thanks.

Hi sonustar. Every time I pass by the university near the school where one of my children is studying, I almost feel envious of the young people studying there. It's like, they have all the world for themselves to conquer and become masters of their own destiny. Studying, whether for personal growth or economic gain is always a welcome endeavor anywhere.
