I wish that I could go back and treat people better. There are alot of men out there who have been dumped either through the mail or over the phone. They didn't deserve to be treated this harshly - their only mistake was to get involved with me. I would still break up with them because they were not meant to be, but I could have been nicer.

My regret is that it took me all these 36 years to realize that I can be honest and not hide myself behind a facade of "I am OK".
Not that I was a liar, per se', but I felt I had to hide myself and my true feelings because they were not good enough and I recently realized I can be honest and people will still love me.

what were you afraid of that caused you to hide yourself behind that facade? were you afraid that people wont accept you for what you are? why fit in, if you can stand out right?

Good question.
Basically I was afraid of rejection and it drove me to be the "Ok" one all the time or to keep things from those important to me as to not disappoint them when I made a bad choice.
The root was self esteem issues and, woking on those now, I see that a lot of my life was wasted trying to fit everybody's perception of me to the exclusion of my own.
And yes, it is no problem to me to stand out now!! Honesty with your feelings , within reason of course, is like Nirvana to me.

i wish i went back to school, not to get better grades because i got good ones, but to make sure i enjoyed every minute of it, when i was at school i hated it and couldn't wait to leave but a year on i really want to go back and meet up with all my friends again, i see some of them every now and again, but it is no the same as sharing day in day out with them. i would keep the school exactly the way i left it to because then it would be just as fun, i took school more serious tan i should have.
