Even though don't agree with being a vegatarian, I can see why people do it. From the cruelness of killing live animals, to the killing of the ozone, there are many good reasons why you should not eat meat. I personally couldn't go without meat for more than a few days and would never become a vegetarian because I love meat.

yeah I've heard of people who only eats from places that don't make the animals suffer, this makes a little more sense if you can afford the costs.

Plants do not feel pain in the same way that animals do. They don't have pain receptors and don't think.
Also we need to eat plant products in order to survive, but we don't need meat, in fact it makes us unhealthy as we put on weight, have increased blood pressure, more risk of cancers, diabeties and heart disease.
So it is not only the cruelty aspect that you need to think about but also the health one.
Just because eating animals is something that people claim (wrongly I think) we have been doing for many years, doesn't mean its right.
