What kind of movies do you prefer to watch?

I noticed that I changed as I aged.
I prefer movies that don't make me think much most of the time. Some story that I can just watch without having to go too deep into it.
I used to like drama and heavy movies that got me thinking and challenged me in some way.
But lately I noticed that when I'm choosing a movie to watch I tend to look for "light" movies. COmedies, adventure, action....
I still like a good thriller but this is a big change and I'm not really sure of how and why it happened.
What about you? What kind of movies do you prefer? And did you notice your tastes changing?

I enjoy movies that are funny, scary, touching, and sometimes romantic. Perfect examples of each are Dodgeball, idk lot of "scary" movies, Pursuit of happyness and the Notebook.

My daughter loved the notebook!!! :)
I thought it was a very good movie, but it's not the kind that I am looking for nowadays.
I've also noticed that I avoid movies that I might find sad in some way. That's why I go for "light" :)
I used to like romantic too but I actually seem to avoid those ones too now. GO figure:)

i prefer watching any type of movie.i do not mind what kind it is as long as it is interesting and i dont get bored up.i watch a variety of movies and it all depends on my mood.so any movie will do for me.maybe our love for movies will change with time and thats what you are going through right now where we dont really get engrossed into the movie and watch it for the fun of it.

it depends on my mood, the person/s i am with and the setting. at home with my parents and brothers, i do not generally feel comfortable watching romantic movies with lots of intimate scenes; we prefer action, thriller, suspense and the 'profound' ones.

I couldn't agree with you more, about changing anyway. I used to go for heavy action movies (Van Damme, Schwarzenegger, Stallone). Now you can't get me to watch one of those. These days I prefer comedy (preferably in the silly vein, e.g. Scary Movies, Wayans Brothers, Mel Brooks) and the lighter superhero movies (FF and Spiderman over Sin City and Hellboy).
I kind of wish they'd make a few more fantasy movies ala Lord of the Rings. There are some mighty good fantasy books out there just begging to be movies (Dragonlance and Discworld come to mind).

I still don't have any change in movie preference, I still like those thought provoking movies and movies that will make me laugh real hard. I guess I have this balance of heavy though provoking movie and the light once that will just let me enjoy the whole story.
I think aging has something to do with that or you like it to be more lighter to avoid the stress of too much thinking.

I really like fantasy and sci-fi things best. However, I also like a good comedy, assuming it's not totally "dumb" comedy, and action or thrillers can be fun sometimes.
I guess honestly I'll watch anything, now that I think about it. Though there are some comedies that I find just too stupid, and I'll turn off halfway through.
You know, I don't think my taste in movies has changed much that I can tell, but maybe that's becuase I didn't have any taste to start with.

I think my taste in movies kind of depends on what kind of mood I'm in at the time. I used to love horror movies when I was in high school. Now I like a good horror movie once ina while but it's not my first choice. I really enjoy comedies because I like to sit back and laugh. I like a good drama or action movie too.

I have a fairly wide taste when it comes to movies. I like thrillers and all those movies which don't make you think much, but also i like deeper movies with a social message, or those epic and historical ones.
The key is the quality. If the flick is good, then it doesn't matter the type of movie that it is, most people will like it...but if it's a poor quality movie, then probably not many will be eager to watch it.

I cannot say I like just one type or two of films because all depends of my mood. For example if I am sad I love to watch romantic films especially if they have a happy end because in this way my mood is better changed or even a comedy in order to make me laugh so that I can forget of my problems. Finally I can say that I like all types of movies ,of course excepting the roumainan ones which I deeply hate.
