Fear of public pools: Legitimate? Just plain Crazy?

Crowded Pool - Crowded public pool...scary.

Okay come on think about it really... It can't get much more disgusting than a public pool. All of the germs, the dead skin flaking off of each and every person in the pool with you, yes they do have chlorine in them but that can only kill so much without taking you out in the process. Also a lot of kids can't help themselves or for some reason or another don't know any better than to pee in the pool, maybe even some adult being lazy or just sick in general and who knows what other bodily fluids could be lurking in the water. The very same water that could very possibly infiltrate your nose, ears, or even your mouth! It's as if your bathing with strangers, would you normally do that, and yes they do have showers that you are 'supposed' to use before diving in, but who is to say if anyone really uses those besides you yourself. And if a person does use them they usually only rinse off for barely a second, not nearly enough time to get all that grime off. Not to mention snot, spit, and sweat; all that filth for you to swim around in while it's sitting stagnant just waiting to attach itself to you. All right so maybe I'm overreacting a bit, it's not like I've never had fun in a pool, but it is really gross to think about it, don't you think so?

Come to think of it, if the pool is as crowded as the one in the picture then I'd rather go to the beach instead. Yes public pools can be really dirty but it's up to you if you'll let those thoughts ruin your time. Maybe it will be easier for you to rent a private pool or have your own swimming pool in the back yard so you wouldn't have to worry.
