a cat is usually harmles to strangers, but dogs are a menace to people they dont know. They back and try even to attack is you show some degree of fear! so, yes, I fear dogs.

Dogs DON'T do that if they've been socialized correctly!! Maybe you just need to meet a few dogs that've been raised better.

I never afraid of cat in my life but I can't see a dog. I will automatically feel afraid of this animal. In my previous apartment before there was a dog owned by a Chinese lady. This dog always want to get me whenever he saw me around. I am very scared and always screaming running away from him. Different story to my cousin, she can't touch a cat. She very scared of our kitten - Moon. She said she just feel afraid of the cat without any reason, I find it is funny. How peoples can afraid of a cat if this animal are very soft and friendly.

i love both cats and dogs, cats are really harmless i don't see why you should be afraid of them, dogs can be dangerous sometimes and and I avoid hostile dogs or stray ones, they are not safe to come close to them but dogs in general are OK.

I like both of them, but I can understand why people are afraid of dogs. I'm not afraid of all dogs, but every now and then I see a dog (usually chained up or behind a fence) that I know would be scary to meet without any restraints. Some people just have really aggressive and mean dogs. Cats, on the other hand, even when they are being kind of mean, just aren't very threatening. You might get some scratches, but they won't bite your throat like a mean dog might (although I doubt that it happens very often). Usually, when a cat doesn't like someone or just doesn't like people in general, it just avoids them.

I just love cats, especially the black ones and the baby ones, just want to play with them and hug them every time when I see a cat. They are clean and they are not noisy! I personally am not fond of dogs that much, I do think some are pretty cute but I am scared of those really big and aggressive ones which bark all the time. That annoys me when they need so much attention.

Hi Jayanvarkala!
Im not afraid of cats and dogs because I treat them like friends and they treat me as their friend too. Before I touch a dog I often let them smell my hands first because dogs can smell it if you have a bad intention to them.

i don't know people who are afraid of cats but i know people who are afraid of dogs because they are more dangerous, i can't imagine how you can be afraid of cats? how cats can make you be afraid of them? because they can't make you something bad just in case that you make them something bad.

i have 1 cats and 2 dogs.but i am still scared of other dogs than mine.i prefer cats more than dogs.because dogs are more dangerous than cat.once dogs bite you need to get stiches and injection from the doctors.while if cats scracthes you it is just normal pain.will be ok after a few days.i have two dogs because all of them came to my house on their own.so my family pity them and adopted them as our pets.my dogs are ok.they do not bite people.but whenever i walk in the streets and saw wild dogs i will just stay far away as i can.because i do not want them start chasing me.

I've worked with ALL kinds of animals and I'm not afraid of any of them. But if I had a choice of being attacked by a dog or a cat I'd take a dog anyday!! I know dogs better, can read their body language better, and dogs are more straightforward, they will normally react with the least amount of aggression that will give them the results they are looking for. If a dog attacks I can get a grip on them and fend them off.
A cat on the other hand just goes completely NUTSO BEZERK!!! I have seen them attack for absolutely no understandable reason, they let loose with all claws and teeth, they're a whirlwind of pointy slicing things, and good luck trying to grab one in a way that they can't get at you! Even holding them by the scruff may not work in many cases!

I truly love both. But cats and dogs are just totally different (beyond the obvious). My boyfriend and I have 2 kitties. WE love htem dearly. My mom has 3 cats and a VERY big puppy. hehe I love her puppy though. I'm sure once he gets older and calms down he will be wonderful.
I know many people that are afraid of cats or dogs. Sometimes it's because of a bad experience, other times they are just afraid or do not like them.

I have heard of a lot of people who are afraid of dogs but I don't think I've met anyone who was afraid of cats.
The biggest problem that most people I know have with cats is that they are allergic to them. My dad is allergic to cats and they just love him.
