I think it depends on the maturity of both parties. However, I don't think the length of courtship correlates with the success of the marriage or partnership. There will still be a lot of things that you would discover about your partner when you start living together. The most important thing is that there is love and respect between the two to be able to withstand the various personal differences.

i actually believe in both - it just depends on how well you feel you know the opposite person. for some people, it takes a week to know fi they want to spend their life with a person and for some it may take years. Theres no fixed answer to this question - it just depends on the individual.

Having done it both ways I would say a long courtship is best to really get to know someone. (Even though I think you continue learning about someone forever). Interestingly I learned in a seminar about relationships that you really should know someone for a year, and go through all the seasons, and holidays, and yearly mood changes and all that before you should consider that you "know" your loved one. I found that very good and interesting information.

I dont know if I still can believe if it really exist nowadays but I do believe that Long Courtship is the solution to a good marriage if not better. With long courtship you will be able to learn a lot of things to the person whom you will spend the rest of your lives. and it's better knowing them during courtship than during engagement period. chances are: there will be lots of regrets.

Well, the question is, how long? ;) i think it's okay. The female specie will have enough time to know and learn all about the male breed. This will also show how "far" will a guy pursue a gal.
