I am sitting here in between loads of laundry, thinking about all I need to do today. It is my only day off and I have to load the dishwasher, do laundry, clean the house, walk the dog, take my son to the doctor. It just feels like it never ends. Do any of you ever feel like it's all too much? Do you feel like you'd rather just slack off and do nothing? I do right now..walk the dog, check the dryer, load the washer, clean the kitchen, bathroom, kids room....aggggggggggggggg... Calgon take me away!!!!

Great photo tag (before I forget to say). At the risk of making things worse, umm, I don't know how to say it so both feet first. My husband is a star. He ran his own house/flat before he married me and still does lots to help. He does not mind cooking even does the ironing occasionally and lets me get away with loads. I have spent my day off on the computer and now have square eyes. Mind you I have still done two loads of washing and am going to put the clothes away and clean the bathroom in a minute when I let somebody else have a turn on here. What gets me is when I am ill these jobs don't get done and wait until I am better. Whereas if he is ill or away I cover all of his jobs as well as mine. Still apparently I can't complain.

lol. thanks for the photo compliment. My husband will cook occasionally, and does help after a bit of chiding. He will not put clothes away (he says he doesn't know where they all go) and he will not do dishes (he does a really bad job anyway, which I think he does on purpose so he doesn't have to...lol) That's my problem too, I have been working 6 days straight and NOTHING has been done in this house NOTHING !!!!

I did a bit of cleaning to look good and now am back. We have teenagers and have shown them how to do chores but it is difficult to even get my daughter to scrape the left over food (!) off her plate let alone anything else. We wondered how our son would cope at University but he seems to be managing. Now he is home he says he is on holiday and still won't help. My fault I suppose. They are lovely though.

Today is my cleaning day too. I must say that I am not looking forward to it at all. I feel so overwhelmed I don't know where to start. At least you have a partial list going and know what you are setting out to do. I still have to sit down and do that part. So, misheleen, don't feel alone. I am there with ya in spirit. Hey, I'll race ya, lol

lol. Well since posting this thread, I have finished 2 loads of laundry, have 1 more in the washer and 2 more in the dryers. Oh, and I got the dishwasher loaded, washed what wouldn't fit, cleaned the kitchen counters and vacuumed behind my computer desk. So much more to do though !!!

I hate cleaning too. I know exactly how you feel, today is a cleaning day here, too! Yuck. The fridge needs cleaning, the dishes are stacked up and there is an entire tub of laundry to be done by hand. :P I feel for you. Which is why we are both on Mylot, right? :)

I feel like that too, a lot. And every day is my day off since I am a stay at home mom. I don't know how working mothers do it all.

Oh I can relate...It was my day off today..and I had to finish the taxes...yuck...and in between, run loads of wash, toss them in the dryer and reload the washer, mop the kitchen floor, clean 2 bathrooms and the kitchen, run to the store to get a few necessities, set up all my husband's medicines, re-order medicine, make a doctor's appt, mend a pair of slacks for my husband, go pick up his dress shirts at the cleaners, get gas in the car, wash the car, work on the taxes somemore, send some business emails out, pay the bills, make a deposit at the credit union and set up my monthly volunteer schedule....whew....I'm glad this day is over...but don't feel like I got much time to myself...At this moment I'm glad I don't have a dog..but I did have to walk my 5 miles on the treadmill...so my FUN day off is over...but at least a few things are done...and a lot aren't...but they'll be there when I get home tomorrow and I'll start all over again...Let's face it..we have 2 jobs..and we just go from one to the other!!! LOL...I am grateful for my job and also for my home...so I shouldn't complain...but I did!!!!! and today even Calgon couldn't have taken me far enough!!!! I think I need a wife!!!!LOL....

LOL i am so with you :):):)
It just keeps going on and on and it never stops and sometimes I would just like a break no matter how small:)
It's not that I don't like to do those things, sometimes it relaxes me doing them, but it's the repetition that gets to me. Day in, day out. You do it now, have to do it again tomorrow, or next week. And it never stops.
Sometimes you just do something now and in 5 minutes you have to do it again ...

I do slack off more than I clean. My house is always a mess. Then when people want to come over i have to work twice as hard to clean it. Since I have my computer my house always suffers. I hate dishes, I hate dusting, I hate vacuuming. I HATE housework!!

Oh my friend, I can perfectly UNDERSTAND what you're feeling. I may be a sucker for cleanliness but I also tend to laze around and stared at nothing. It seems like 24 hours is not enough for me to accomplish everything. I was just about to take a rest when something appeared right before my eyes that's begging me to clean them up. grrrr...

it's sad that as soon as you sit down, you notice something out of the corner of your eye, and you HAVE to get it done. There are not enough hours in the day to get everything done. Maybe one day, when I collapse from exhaustion, someone in my house will realize they need to help out some more.

Whereever in the world women moves the society. Families stay in comfort because of them. Houses are cleanly maintained by them. Children are brought up healthy by them. Pets are looked after by them. Men are properly maintained by them. They are the base of their family. Without them houses will be miscerable.

I use to hate my days off because they never really felt like days off with all of the housework I would have to catch up on. These days it is easier because I don't have a job outside of the house. My job these days is taking care of our four dogs and my three children. I still hate to do dishes but I don't think that I will ever change about that.

Well cleaning is something that is tiresome to do alright, but it is also fulfilling. Just think that no one will keep the house clean but you, unless you can hire a help.

Yes I feel like that ALOT. I think it is important that you take time for your self. And when I think about cleaning or even when I am cleaning I try to think of it as a way of blessing my family. A way that I show them that I love them. It helps me get my mind out of the funk. Right now I have a stack of shirts to iron but here I am. LOL I guess duty calls.

I wish I could get into the spirit...lol. I have done 5 loads of laundry, the kitchen, re-organized my filing cabinet (it needed it) and cleaned up my room. Went to the doctors for my son, stopped by the grocery store, now I have to walk the dog and start dinner !!
