Joey is one of the many spin offs that have been created following really successful series...Friends in this case. What do you think about it? I personally think it's not as good as the original...Joey is different, he doesn't behave the same way. Anyway i don't think it's a bad series, just think that the chemistry of Friends is very hard to repeat.

I agree with you lightninStrike, and you've hit the nail on the head with the reason - the chemistry is lacking. Joey is pleasant enough, but lacks the banter between the *Friends*. I don't even know if tjhe same writers write both series, but Joey is sadly lacking. This quite often happens with sequels, though some can be successful. Look at Mork from Ork - it was a spin off from Happy Days and was an excellent show - launching Robin Williams into his career. Laverne and Shirley were also spin offs from Happy Days and did very well.

Joey is no where as good as friends, friends was a one of wonder. You have to think though would many shows compare to friends.? You are totally right all of them had the chemistry between them and all played there part execelently, you have to wonder if they reformed friends would it be as good as it once was. To be truthful joey is excelent and also funny but it would have been hard for joey to make a spin of which can compare to friends.

Unfortunately, Joey never had a hope of comparing favourably with the worldwide phenomena that was Friends. I personally thing it was a great shame, as Joey's character was the only one that offered the potential for a great spin-off. I think they should have probably brought in at least some of the writers from Friends to carry the humour through, although they were probably earning megabucks with Warner Bros and didn't feel like woking for peanuts!

I think it's so difficult to surpass the success of Friends. The spin-off (Joey) may have funny highlights and I think Joey still did a great job in that sitcom but it's either we expected too much or we just have this thinking that Friends will always be the best.
