what do you like with your chocolates? do you want those with the crunchy twist of nuts or those with the citrus pinch from the fruits or just plain chocolate? me i prefer plain chocolate and those with fruit. i don't like the nutty ones because they get stuck in my teeth and braces..haha how bout you? what combo do you like?

OH YEAH, when I had braces I had a hard time with nuts. I like milk chocolate usually. Sometimes I'll get the one with almonds, and once I had a really good one with almonds and rasins, but haven't had it since. My usual is a big fat milk chocolate bar. For holidays I like those chocolate oranges. They don't have oranges in it, but they have orange flavoring. YUM.

Well, the type of chocolate I eat depends largely on my mood at the time. For a nutty chocolate, you can't beat roasted whole hazelnuts in dark chocolate, in my opinion. Although chocolate brazil-nuts, and roasted almonds both have their moments too... I also enjoy Thorntons' Alpinis and Diplomats, which both contain nuts. But if I'm in the mood for some serious chocolate, I always break out the Green & Black's dark (70% cocoa solids don't you know!), or their "Maya Gold" (only 65 % cocoa solids, but gorgeous spices and orange oil too!) which is scrummy grown-up chocolate, as well as being organic, AND fair trade. If you're a serious chocolate-lover, then they sell via their website as well as in some supermarkets:

All the best, and great subject for a post!

I'd definitely recommend trying it, but be warned - it's highly addictive! I'd also recommend eating it at room temperature - chilling it makes the flavours less developed, and you'll be able to better appreciate its subtlety of flavour if it's not cold. With Green & Black's, they're not only ethically responsible (and were the first chocolate Brand to get a Fairtrade certificate!), they care passionately about the quality of their product. I got a slightly below-par bar of Maya Gold from Asda once (it turns out to have been Asda's storage of the chocolate which had affected the flavour), and when I emailed them to ask whether they'd changed the recipe, they checked the tasting notes for that batch to make sure it was up to scratch, and immediately sent me 3 full-sized free bars by post, as compensation and to reassure me that their product was as good as ever - which it was! It's rare to find a large company nowadays which cares that much about customer satisfaction, and the quality of their product! No, I don't work for them, or have shares - I'm just a big fan of that company!!

I'd have to agree with you there emjay, but not for the sweetness and creaminess aspect - being a fan of the bitter, dark varieties (the more of the cocoa bean and the less of anything else, the better as far as I'm concerned!), I can say that the cocoa flavour itself, the bitter dark flavours, are more intense and developed when chocolate's at room temp.

I do not particularly care for chocolate with fruit or nuts in it. I like chocolate that has a soft center such as caramel or nougat. I love solid milk chocolate and dark chocolate on occasion. Although I really don't like nuts, I do like both Baby Ruth and Snickers candy bars, so I guess I should rephrase: I like chocolate with peanuts. :) At Easter time, I really like the Cadbury eggs with the original creme fillings.

Ugh, I hate chocolate with nuts. If I really have to eat one of those I'd usually spit the nuts out. This really gets my mom mad. She says I'm wasting perfectly good food. Though I really like Cadbury's fruit and nuts. At least the nuts in there are pretty much bearable to eat. But usually, I just enjoy plain milk chocolate specially if they're extra creamy. Yum!

Usually it depends on my mood as to which chocolate I like. But, my two favorite types of chocolate are mint chocolate and dark chocolate (the darker the better!).

I never say "no" to chocolate of any description. My favourite is the chocolate with little pieces of almond like the toblerone bars. Next to this I love plain dark chocolate and I often break a little of it into my coffee on top of the whipped cream.
