Infant murdered

That is heartbreaking. That poor little baby, and such an appalling thing to do when there is the Safe Haven Law. I wonder, could the infant have been a result of an attack? I would think it would take some serious anger to stab your newborn 135 times. My nephew's girlfriend hid her pregnancy until the last two weeks. They had broken up very early in the pregnancy and she never told him. She lived with her father and he preferred to be oblivious. I think you would have to have blinders on, unless the girl was quite heavy to begin with?

That just show how her irresponsible mother made her irresponsible. She probably didn't notice she was pregnant because she wasn't paying attention to her daughter. I spend so much time with my son, I notice if he even has a new mole. This story is very hard to read and brough tears to my eyes since I just lost a pregnancy recently. She needs serious help, more than just to be thrown in jail. She will not learn anything from sitting in jail. If she stabbed her baby that many times though, then maybe there is no hope for her. Poor baby. Babies don't ask to be born but if one brings them into this world, they should be taken care of or let someone else take care of them.

That absolutely breaks my heart to hear a story like that. It is even more heartbreaking to know that there are childless couples out there that would have loved that child as their own. Why in the world is this kind of thing allowed to happen? How does a person get into that state of mind?

My daughter was 17 when she got pregnant. She came to me and told me about it. My 2 older kids let her know that if for any reason she didn't want the baby to just let one of them have it. They told her it didn't matter if she tried and to take care of the baby and decided she couldn't they would take the baby no matter how old the baby was. They let her know that we all understood she was young and may not be ready for a child. Her daughter is now 14 months old and she is a wonderful mother. She was very happy to know that if she couldn't care for her that she had her family to step in. She felt having the option of giving the baby to family would be easier than giving it to a stranger. My grand daughter is smart and beautiful and we wouldn't know what to do without her. My kids and I are close and they talk to me and their step dad about everything. I don't understand how that mother didn't know her daughter was pregnant. That is so sad.

that is very sad. i think we have that safe haven law here too. the mother probably should have known she was pregnant but its possible not to i guess. i worked in daycare and we had a baby whos mother didn't know she was pregnant until 2 days before she had the baby. she had gone to the doctor and they said she wasn't pregnant. well finally she bought a home test and took it on a friday, it came up positive so she made an appt. for monday, she had the baby sunday night. i think they should make the safe haven law available everywhere and make it better known so stuff like this doesn't happen. i don't get why she stabbed the baby so much though, that seems to be going a little too far.

That is so sad..not only for the baby who never had a chance but also for the 17 year old girl whose life is now in ruins. I agree how could a mother not know her daughter was pregnant. What about her periods and lack of them didnt she wonder why the girls needed no supplies. Michigan also has the safe haven law.

The girl could have been a bil girl and was able to hide the pregnicy well. A friend of mine got a phone call one day last year telling her that her niece was in the er and that she needed to get there because they had no idea what was wrong with the girl. The girl said that she was having cramps and thought that she was hemeriging due to her period. A little while later she had a bouncing baby boy. She didn't know that she was in labor let a lone that she was pregnant. She had her periods every month and everything and she isn't a big girl either. She just didn't know and the baby was about 6 pounds. I don't know how any female can go about for 9 months and not know that they are pregnant. God has blessed me with 5 pregnanceys and i know when my child moves. It's not something that can be hidden. It's very sad that they stabed this 1 day old baby. Why kill such a small incent? i can't even see anyone getting abortions because to me that's murder as well. It's just to sad to hear about babies being killed and beaten and little kids being beaten as well. What did these inicints do that was so wrong that they had to be hurt over it other then the fact that they where born? It's that the childs falt but the parents. If they have the 17 year old in jail then they should find the babies father and put him there as well for letting the baby get killed. After all it was half his to. I'm sorry if i seem a little to pasanit on this subject but this is the way i feel and think about children. They are a blessing from god and are to be loved and brought up right. If you feel that you are not a good enough parent then let someone else bring up the child. There are so many families out there that can not have children and would always love to adopt one and call him or her their own like in your case. Why kill when some one else can love the baby?

What a tragic story, especially when she could have given her child over to the authorities safe and sound. I have heard stories of girls who don't look pregnant, even at 9 months. And even if they go get a bit of a bump, loose clothing or sitting behind a table etc will help hide it. I even heard a story of a girl who gave birth and she didn't even know she was pregnant!

Well I feel there must be something still covered.There must be something still not disclose.I too believe its not possible that a 'mother' don't know that her daughter is about to become a 'mother'.

its a hilarious thing done by that girl.any punishment will give to that girl?of course there should be cos she taken the life of the child.life is given to us by god to cherish.its a horrible thing really!

Unfortunately depression can lead people to do some horrible things & although i would NEVER do anything like that EVER - i do remember how, all over the place, my emotions were when i had my daughter last year. One minute i was happy, the next i was on a complete downer - which is apparently normal. This really is awful what happened & with that law you have about being able to drop off a baby up to a certain age - you'd have thought she'd have dropped the baby off there. It's so sad & very disturbing that a woman could do something so maliscious to her own baby. I hope they try her as an adult & that she goes to jail for it - she deserves to rot alone in her cell to think about the awful thing she did - for a very long time! I just hope she doesn't get out with one of those insanity plees or the mentally unstable ones - not sure what it's called, sorry. As for the Mother not noticing the pregnancy - some women really don't show all that much, some are just lucky to not explode with a HUGE belly - on the other hand, if her mother didn't give a sh*t - that could also explain how she didn't see it, she wasn't paying attention.

I really hate those kind of people, she should have give the child to orphanage rather than killing the child. If only the child have the option to choose his/her parents. She is still an angel. The mother of the child must be prosecuted! (sorry for being rude) I myself have a son and there's nothing in this world that would make me hurt him even though he did something wrong. For the the mother of the girl, it is impossible that she didn't even noticed that her daugther was pregnant, maybe she already noticed it but she just ignore it like nothing happened because i know it is very ard to accept that your teenager daugther was already pregnant without a husband.

wow.. how can she do that? what? her mother didn't even notice that she's pregnant? wow.. what on earth.. it's impossible.. either her mother abet her in it.. or she hid it from her mom.. there's always to hide the truth right? maybe her mom thought she is going fatter.. didn't suspect that she's pregnant? it's a possibility too..

This makes me angry when young girls or just any woman at that does something like this. How hard would it of been to go to a Safe Haven? Maybe she didn't know about the Safe Haven? I mean you see commercials everyday about Safe Havens all around the place, so I don't know how this young girl never had heard of such a thing and that is besides the case, she should of still known better. And what the heck was she think? 135 times? That is just sick and she must of had other problems wrong with her. That is just disturbing in my eyes. There are so many people out there that would of adopted that baby. So sad. I think she should be tried as an adult and should do a very long, long time. Now on to the next thing... Sometimes people can hid a pregnancy really well, especially if the person is on the plus size side. The bigger you are, the better you can hide it. Even if her mother was really into her daughters life and saw her every single second of the day, there are ways to hide a pregnancy. Now if she was a really skinny girl or even an average size girl, then that will be a little harder to hide and you would think the parents would have noticed her changing and the clothes changing because I'm sure she couldn't wear small clothes anymore. So it all depends on the case. I have also heard of girls that didn't tell anyone they were pregnant and they hid it from their family and they would use duck tape to tape their belly as much as they could. There was also a story line on Oprah once about this and the girl would have her boyfriend jump on her stomach. Now that is sick. But this girl lived with her grandma and hid it from her and ended up killing the baby as well and stabbed it with a fork I believe. Sad. But she was caught and was tried as an adult and is in prison now.

This is a very sad story ..better say sad conclusion of the fact.Mother of 17 year old daughter cant tell her daughter is pregnant..is a bit unreal to me. There might be something otherelse behind the scene which might push the incedence to happen. Whatever it might have been...The incedence ss a stain to mankind. I cant imagine it in my horror dream..

I heard about that on the radio today. I can't believe some people. I think that at 17 I would know better than that and her mother is just as horrible of a person as she is. And 135 times? I don't think that was something she did because she was desperate, I think that she's a sick demented person and should probably be put in a mental hospital.

this is really awful to even think of.how can a kid stab a child so many time?how can a mom be so very ignorant of not knowing that her child is pregnant?this girl has taken away a life of a child that was supposed to live and spoilt her future by doing so too.it is so sad the way the world isgoing nowadays.people have become simply ignorant not caring about anyone else but themselves.

This girl was obviously very scared and very depressed. It's hard to understand what goes through some girls minds after they've given birth, and it takes an emotional toll on them too. As for her mother not knowing, well, without taking sides or anything, if the girl is a little on the plump side anyway, it's not always easy to tell that they're pregnant. Or the baby could have been small. I had a friend who got pregnant, and even when she hit 8 months, you could only just tell. It's a difficult situation, and right now, I feel for that mother. She's not only lost a daughter. She's lost a grandchild she didn't even know she was expecting, and there's no way she can ever get that back. Her world must have been turned completely upside down.

Wow that is really sick! How can someone do that to their child and your right how can a mother not know that their daughter is pregnant...that just floors me...obviously she isnt too good of a mother. That baby never even had a chance in life...she needs to be tryed as an adult...since she planned it and then lied about it.
