Good luck finding a simple lasagne recipe! It's such a labor-intensive dish, but when made well, it's worth it? I guess you could take short cuts and use the noodles that don't have to be pre-cooked and use jar sauce that you've doctored up. I prefer to make it from scratch. I use both a red meat sauce and top everything with a white sauce. I think the recipe was in HOW TO COOK EVERYTHING by Mark Bittman. I watched an episode on Food Network with Sandra Lee, and she made a simple lasagne. But she used canned tomato soup! I don't know what her reasoning was for that. Maybe Rachel Ray has a quick lasange recipe. I suggest going to FoodNetwork.com and doing a recipe search. Then mix and match to make the recipe your own. Good luck! Or should I say, Bon Appetite!

This is very easy to make if you know the shortcuts. First, you don't need to precook the noodles. Cook two pounds of burger in a deep skillet, drain, add one large jar of chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce and one cup of water. The water is what will cook your noodles. spoon in a large ladle of the sauce mix in the bottom of your square cassarole dish. Then, add a layer of the uncooked noodles. Ladle on more sauce, add a layer of cottage cheese or ricitta. Next add a layer of peperoni. Repeat the layers until you have your pan full. I then top with a pizza cheese blend of shredded cheese. Cover with foil, and cook in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and cook until the cheese starts to brown(15-20min. more). Let set for 10 minutes before serving. After cooking the burger, it only takes about ten minutes to through together. This is easy and yummy. You can tweek the ingrediants to add what you like. Hope that helps.

This is one of the more elaborate homecooked meals because of the layers involved however it too can be made with little difficulty. Oven ready noodles are okay but really boiling flat lasagna noodles is very easy, stand them up in the boiling water and let them slowly sink to the bottom for less breakage and add a pinch of salt. While that is boiling, prepare your meat and veggie and cheese (hey use all three items but very lightly between layers so you can build it high) add-ins. Meat can be beef and sausage, beef and turkey, veal, pork, chicken, or chicken and turkey OR venison and beef. This can be seasoned with paprika, garlic, onion, white pepper, black pepper and any other spice you choose. (Variations include ginger & soy sauce for oriental meat lasagna, cumin and crushed red pepper for southwestern lasagna, and oregano, tyme, basil and a little rosemary for Italian lasagna.) An all-veggie lasagna can have eggplant, garlic (halved cloves, peeled)tomatoes (roma, cherry, grape and sun-dried), olives, peppers, celery, spinach--whatever vegetable you love. Sauces can be either red or white, and mushrooms would be better in the white sauce as garlic, olives, spinach would also fare better there than in red sauce where tomatoes, eggplant and peppers (green, red, yellow, banana and joblano for hotness) would taste for more appealing. An all cheese version would be those that melt well together and don't form lumps to ruin the quality of layered feast. Sharp cheddars are not recommemnded but farmers, mozzarella (low-moisture skim type), ricotta, cottage and even feta (if greek style lasagna) are very complimentary to the heating process. I experiment with different sauces like cream of chicken, or mushroom, or tomato. I also alternate green veggies like sometimes just asparagus and celery, or spinach and mustard greens. It really depends and since i love great food I make it different as much as possible to truly experience the world of gourmet cuisine ! sharing the light, Erica

Hi Sweetide,The easy way to do it is cook your lasagna noodles (do not over cook as you will be baking them also) and let them cool after you pour some olive oil on them to keep them from sticking together. You place a layer of noodles across the bottom of your baking dish..pour a thin layer of pasta sauce over the noodles.Add ricotta, cottage cheese, shredded mozzerella, shredded jack, shredded cheddar(any cheeses you like)sliced pepperoni, cooked sausage and any other items you think you will like. You can make a veggie lasagna by adding veggies and leaving the meat out...then add another layer..When you get to the top make sure it doesn't get so close to the top of the dish..It might bubble over.Do not put cheese on the top just yet..Cover tightly..Bake at about 325-350 for about 40 minutes..uncover..add the cheese to the top and more sauce if it looks dry...put back in oven for about 15 -20 minutes or until the cheese is nicely melted and bubbling..Then enjoy..The times and temps will depend on your oven etc..Just use you better judgement...Hope you like it

This is the recipes I use. Its not hard at all and my family loves it. Sometimes I subsitute the parmesan cheese for a package of shredded casserole cheese so that I get alot of different cheeses. Lasagna INGREDIENTS: 1 (26-ounce) jar fat-free tomato-basil pasta sauce Cooking spray 1 (15-ounce) carton part-skim ricotta cheese 1/3 cup chopped fresh basil 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 1/4 teaspoon salt 6 no-boil lasagna noodles 1/2 cup (2 ounces) preshredded fresh Parmesan cheese 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil INSTRUCTIONS:Preheat oven to 450°. Spread 1/2 cup pasta sauce in bottom of an 8-inch square baking dish coated with cooking spray. Combine ricotta, 1/3 cup basil, crushed red pepper, and salt. Arrange 2 noodles over sauce; top with 1 cup ricotta mixture and 3/4 cup sauce. Repeat layers, ending with noodles. Spread remaining sauce over noodles. Cover and bake at 450° for 25 minutes or until noodles are tender and sauce is bubbly. Uncover lasagna, and top with Parmesan and 2 tablespoons basil. Bake lasagna an additional 5 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes.

Here is a simple and easy homemade lasagna for you to try, I have used this one before and the results are wonderful. Easy Homemade Lasagna 16 lasagna noodles 2 pounds ground beef 1 jar (28 ounces) spaghetti sauce 1 pound process cheese (Velveeta), cubed or you can use Shredded Cheese of your choice Cook noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add the spaghetti sauce; heat through. Rinse and drain the noodles. In a greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dish, layer a third of the meat sauce and half of the noodles and cheese. Repeat layers. Top with remaining meat sauce. Cover and bake at 350° for 35 minutes or until bubbly. Yield: 6-8 servings.
