I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The Exorcist. Growing up Catholic, demonic possession was something that I was taught to believe was real. It was that coupled with the fact that a young girl was the subject of such abuse. It broke so many taboos it wasn't even funny. The scene with the crucifix, for example . . . hideous: purely hidous. But that's why we are drawn to it, isn't it? Do I still believe that demonic possession is a viable reality? Not necessarily. Am I still frightened by this film, some twenty years after the fact. Yes, very much so.

yes I certainly agree with you. even now, the scene with the crucifix gives me goosebumps. It really cautioned me to never venture within the devil's grasp. Demonic possession is so real and it is hideous.

Freddy Kruger - She is the only one who can stop it... if she fails, no one survives.
I agree that exorcist is really scary but I have another movie in mind. It is "A Nightmare on Elm Street" I was around 6 or 7 years old when I first watched the movie and I can't sleep for 2 days without having nightmares. Freddy Kruger is the substance of nightmares. He always appears strangely dressed and has knives on the fingers of his right hand. A group of four teenagers all begin to have the same strange dreams about Freddy and then one of them is gruesomely murdered in her sleep. The survivors soon realise that if Freddy kills them in their sleep, then they will die in real life too. Thus begins an ordeal of wakefulness as they try to find some way to stop Freddy.

For me it's Ringu, the original Japanese version of the Ring. Nothing truly horrible happened, but there's such a creepy atmosphere in the whole movie and I thought the acting was pretty good.

I love scary movies!! I have more than one favorite films. First it's nightmare at elm's street. Classic horror film. I couldn't sleep for weeks! Next would be The exorcism of emily rose. true to life horror flick. really good movie. There are also good japanese horror movies such as ju-on and the ring but the best japanese horror movie for me was the shutter. I couldn't sleep for days. There was also one movie that I think traumatised me for a couple of months. It was chuckie. That demented doll. It still gives me the creeps. But the new chuckie movies are just plain weird now. The classics were better and much more traumatising. I couldn't buy any toy for months.

Ju On and Sadako is the scariest movie i've ever seen. The ghost is so scary, and look so real. But i enjoyed to watch horror movie. Almost Japanes's horror movie is very scary and like a real story.

i agree with you. Sadako's character really creeped me out. and of course the mystery of her past is not revealed. That added more scare factor to the story

The movie that freaked me out the most was "Hostel". My brother brought it over for us to watch one night. And it started and I was like cool, in the beginning. Then it got graphically grotesque real quick. But we did watch it to the end though. It was like a horrible, gruesome trainwreck; you know that you should look away but yet for some reason you can't. I would never watch that movie again or recommend for anyone else to watch it. It scared the crap out of me!!!!
