How did you come up with your screen name?

Now I don't want anyone to reveal anything too personal but just generally what made you think up your screen name for myLot. I do a lot of crafts so I knew mine would have the word craft in it. I just couldn't think up something clever to go with it. So I left it totally to chance. I picked up my tv remote, closed my eyes, I hit the remote with my open hand and whatever came up on the screen that's what I'd use. When I opened my eyes it was a baseball game and the first person I saw was the catcher! So that's how craftcatcher was born..:D It could have been a lot worse!

I did not have to make up any name as I am using my own name.I do it always everywhere.Hindu mythology believes that you get good wibes if you are using your name .It is choosen by looking at the mathematics of the stars and constellations. Some letters are suggested ,which suit your zodiac sign;that si how aname is selected generally. We have a practice of giving 5 names in all to the new born.

I never knew about that particular Hindu myth or about the mathematics of the stars. That's very cool. Thanks for telling me about it. Interesting. I have 4 names which is a little unusual in the US but my mother's family is Italian so it's not so unusual for Italians to have many names. Thanks for responding :)

My mylot screen name is similar to my email address. I've had my email for a few years and I don't remember exactly how I got it but once a long time ago I tried sighing up for something and the choices I wanted for a screen name were taken so whatever site it was came up with embattled something or other and I think I added the sparkle. I like it, it's different and it's me :)

I do the same thing in the summer. I live in the American midwest so during the hot and humid summers I'm wishing winter will come quickly. I can take the cold but I don't take the heat very well. I mean in the winter you can always put more clothes on but in the summer you can only take so much off and not get arrested. Thanks so much for your story :)

I got my screenname from my boyfriend's complete name. That's why several people thinks that I'm a man, LOL. I don't know why I often do like this. ID of my email also created from my friend's name who was accompanying me when I sign up for Yahoo mail. It's not that I don't want to be myself, but perhaps that's a shortcut thoughts, just slipped into my mind while creating nicknames.

I don't assume anyone's gender on here anymore! I've run into several guys on here with avatars of really sexy women. I started out assuming that the picture was them.... WRONG-O LOL. I've seen a lot of women do that, use their boyfriends/husbands name or part of it. I've seen a lot use their kids names too. Just means we think a lot about he people we love :) Thanks

That's funny about studdering the name. Makes it very original though! I don't think you'll run in to anyone else with a name even close to that one. Thanks for the story :)

What a great way to come up with a name. LOL I am not a very creative person...I just used the first part of both of my kids' names and then mommy at the end. VERY unoriginal, but I like it. :)

I liked how you got the catcher part , never thought of that. Mine is I like stormy ,cloudy days , not always I like it hot enough for the pool but I liked stormy for the name better than cloudy, and girl I had to add on because the name stormy was already used with another add on.

I like cloudy days too, I'm a little light sensitive so it's easier on my eyes if the sun isn't shining too brightly. Thanks

With me, I had been adopted as an infant. I had spent 32 years of my life (off and on) searching for my birth mom, and I had always promised myself that if I ever learned my birth name, I would legally change it back. I was successfully reunited with my birth mom two years ago. Of course, I learned my birth name, so that's my screen name. Since I was born in New Jersey, I added that on as well.:) I was just so proud and thrilled to have finally learned my birth name that I couldn't wait to use it, lol.

Easy enough to remember that's for sure. I see a lot of people doing that, using a combination of birthdates and real names. Thanks

mine is inspired by the japanese culture or anime, the way people in japan call their female close friends. It is added with the word "chan" at the end of their name, well me and my friends used this kind of terms, in calling ones name. but i also added the word "kawaii" before my name meaning "cute" theres nothing really especial its just i like the way it sounds cause its really cute and i find it quite unique and a bit stylish though. ^.^

this is a good one. Mostly I have seen funny names that don't give the exact idea of the person's name when looking at the Id. But few like me just put down their names as their id's (short name of course)... saves time and helps other to recongnize me quickly (if they know me earlier) !!

I simply use the first initial of my first name and all of my last name. Nothing as clever as yours! :)

It is an interesting word, I've never heard it before. What language is it or is it just a slang term? I'm glad you don't think of yourself as a loser! Thanks

I got my name from the title and heroine of Cervantes' books, La Galatea. I haven't read it yet but after reading Don Quixote, I'm quite confident that any other book by Cervantes would be good.

I used to have an really old gumball machine. I'd fill it up with all kinds of stuff, nuts, M&M's, gumballs (amazingly enough) and that's what I used to use as a piggy bank. It had been altered somewhere along the line to accept pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. All the change I put into it went straight into my savings account. That's how I bought my first leather coat. Somewhere along the line I either lost it or someone stole it but I wish I still had it. Thanks!
