How bad is possesiveness?

How bad is it , if you are possessive about the one whom you love and you are only worried about him/her being safe, What would you suggest, that i can continue with my behavior or should i change it?

pradeeshchandran i think possesivness is not a good quality, it may create problems in a good relation
