Is it cool to hit on/talk to girls you dont know at the gym?

Whenever I go to the gym, there's always a few really gorgeous girls that I see regularly. I have never really talked to a girl I didn't know at the gym, just because you hear about it and see it happen and it just looks straight...

So I'm not getting all mushy but I think that this is a really great conversation piece. I'm sure this kind of thing has happened to everyone once under similar or different circumstances or means. But anyways, here is my story....
