Why did they not include all scenes in the book in the movies?

Such as: Prisoner of Azkaban - they (directors)did not show in the movie how Sirius Black escaped from prison. Goblet of Fire - they did not show how other contestants battle the dragon

rahultundlayat this is not of that importance.... Director have to make his movie as short as possible so he has to delete some scenes... This is a very simple logic dude...!!! What do you think...???
