What is better to give to street children? Money or Food?

When we see street children I can't help myself to think where are their parents? why are they allowed to roam around the streets? I have an experience before that one one of the street children approached me while I'm walking...

railani1 its good to give them food because if we provide them with money ,they use it to buy alcohol rather than food and for clothing or even a shelter
