Vista - Unexpected shut down

hi guys! i have a windows vista laptop. I am getting annoyed because once in a while it shuts down unexpectedly as if someone pulled the plug off. what must be the cause of the problem? please help, thanks!

rorymen dear maricris, can i ask what happened with your computer in the end? i bought a samsung laptop literally four weeks ago, windows vista, and it has an unexpected shut down almost about every 7 minutes, its a NIGHTMARE!!! what can i do? thank you! r
