kelly60 At least make sure that you are monitored closely if you are going to be off of them entirely. With so many different types out there though, there is bound to be something that won't have bad effects, especially if taken in a low dose.

patgalca Perhaps you should look into a different anti-depressant. It sounds like you only need a mild dose. There are other options.

asawako48162 Yes, you were probably right doing this. I take a mild anti depressan and Xanax at night.. but I feel a lot better and I don't have the anxiety problems that I have had before..prozac seems a stronger med then I take..but not all people can tolerate meds...

LAWise520 I don't think that you needed to be put on prozac at all. Prozac was made to fix a chemical imbalance, not to stop you from mourning your losses. Mourning is natural and must be worked through, not covered up so that it can ruin the rest of your life....

Inky261 It is better not to take these mind changing drugs as one can become addicted to them. I think it is normal to be very sad and maybe to be unable to work for a while when there is a death in the family. Everything gets better with time.
