ksstormhunter I think if they lowered it, we would have more drunk drivers on the road, plus the maturity level at that age, is still not fully developed and are proned to make more foolish judgements with alcohol.

angelicEmu I think that the maturity levels of 18-year-olds (especially towards alcohol) would increase if they were treated as adults, and got used to alcohol. Drunk driving is a different issue entirely, and has nothing to do with the legal drinking age. People of 18...

CRiley27 Dear God no. Half the 21 year olds can't handle drinking responsible. The last thing they should do is lower it. Trust me, our under age service men have no problem geting drunk.

sharon613 Definately, this past Saturday night I took my daughter to a karaoke pub for her 18th Birthday and the bartender had told us to leave because she wasn't 21.

angelaplus2 If the government can legally call you an adult at 18, you should be able to drink. You don't have to ask anyone's permission at that point to get married and I think that's a lot more serious than a drink. Plus, most people are already drinking by then...

victors4life I believe 18 year old in America are way irresponsible than those of Canada and Mexico. Americans are spoiled with to much lesisure time and not enough sense. LOL

angelicEmu I agree with you. Here in the UK, the legal drinking age is 18, and in Europe it's younger still. If young people are allowed (with parental supervision of course) a small amount of alcohol with meals, it de-mystifies it for them, and it becomes nothing...
