Min pins and young children

I have heard that min pins aren't good with children because they're snappy - is this true? if it is are there any small, short hair dogs that are good with children??

We found what appears to be a hermit crab when we were at the beach today. Are these "wild" ones ok to keep as pets?? Do you take care of them like the ones from the store?? I really don't know anything about hermit crabs -...
