slico79 @Alesma: Tax rates are equal for all, that is solidarity. Since the rich earns more, they are taxed more. The poor earns less so they pay less and they get welfare too! So who get an advantage here? the rich?

slico79 I too didn't believe in ghost till I encountered one. Since then, I've been more receptive to others who have experienced similar incidents.

slico79 I know that she needs professional help but I am stumped on how to persuade her. We don't want to take her against her will since she will most certainly not cooperate with the psychologist or any medical professional we take her.

slico79 Well good for you everyone is wrong! A skidding car in the freeway is definitely scary and deadly. Did you file a complaint against the trucker? Anyone driving, specially a huge vehicle, should check their vehicle especially during a long drive.

slico79 Nobody can avoid death, that is true but it doesn't mean that we will not strive to survive while we are still living. Knowing that death is inevitable does not mean that we put ourselves needlessly in the face of death.

slico79 That is exactly what I hate about traffic incidents, no matter how law abiding or careful you are, there will always be some idiot who thinks they own the road and puts everyone on its path in danger.

slico79 That was a scary experience and I have my fair share of traffic accidents. I've been driving for almost 2 decades yet I am still afraid of traffic incidents.
