How to let go of love without hurting?

Many cases of breaking ups makes two become a mortal enemy. Most get depressed and recovers a long time. Where few becomes man or woman haters. Can't this be avoided? Is there any other way of breaking ups without hurting someone?...

soffinc It is very hard to stay good friends when you shared a special bond and then had to separate for different views and ideas.
