sparksfley Yes - for me - after both of my children. I didn't realize what it was at the time. Thought EVERYONE felt that way. I didn't actually learn about post-natal depression until years after the fact, but certainly recognized the symptoms.

sparksfley I'm the mom of a 6 & 4 year old. I think the appropriate timing for a cell phone would be when they're old enough to be out with their friends minus parental chaperones. They need to be able to get ahold of me in this day and age, in my opinion.

sparksfley I don't think it makes them unintelligent or anything like that. But I do think that it does sensitize them to violence. And frankly, I've got two boys and I don't want them to try the moves on each other and get hurt.

sparksfley I'm guessing that since this is a school party, the food should be small and compact - tastes as opposed to a meal. Well... I would say Cocktail weinies would be good, especially slow cooked in bbq sauce. Maybe grilled cheese sandwiches, then cut quartered....
