when i start my car it makes a tapping sound but smooths out after it warms up.i can still hear it though.any suggestions?

what could be wrong with my car? The check engine light came on two days ago and I just got the oil changed yesterday.

stuartg7 depending on the age of the car the oil servise trip counter may not have been reset.
