Can cats be friend with dogs?

I use to watch in television cats can mixed up and be friend with dogs. But I never see such situation in our neighbourhood. They are like dogs and cats use to be. Chasing and fighting. Do really cats and dogs can be good friend?

TexasMama Our cats were raised with our dogs, so neither one knows the difference. They don't know that they are supposed to be enemies! Unfortunately, when my daughter brought her newly adopted dog home from college, we didn't know he was a cat killer, and our cats...
