emisle If someone started calling me names and slagging me off, than I would give them a negative rating, it's one thing to say you don't agree with someone but another to attack the person themselves.

emisle I do tend to joke sometimes but not because I want to insult the person, it's just the way I am...I just don't see why people can't respond to that person and tell them that they didn't appreciate whatever they said.

Idlewild I've also noticed lower ratings for people who are outspoken or have a habit of expressing themselves in a strong way, regardless of their opinions. And people who joke around in their answers also seem to get lower ratings.

emisle It's just a lot like the real world! People on here have to 'attack' those whose opinions they don't agree with, if only they could just leave it alone and agree to disagree in a civilised manner.

emisle Same here. I have come across discussions where I think the poster is a bit ignorant with what they're posting, but I don't give negative ratings for that. Instead I let them know how I feel about what they've written.

teenal I give neg ratings but not to topics or responses I disagree with. We are all entitled to our different opinions. I only give them to idiotic one line or one word responses or where the respondant obviously hasnt read the post and posts drivel.

minerc I do agree, I don't rate people bad when I don't agree with there answer or there response. The only people I have rated negative are the ones who respond I don't know, and the ones who have cut and pasted discussions as well as responses.

emisle If someone is attacking another person's point of view and being abusive etc than fair enough, but if someone posts their point of view and they haven't set out to be abusive etc, than that's not ok..

judyt00 You have to admit, though that sometimes some people's statements are so bigotted and biased that they deserve to be given negative ratings. I do give these people negative ratings.And I will continue to do so.
