is loving a married man an affair?

my friend fell in love with a married man and he fell in love with her, too. they just sent some messages and never had a date. they knew they fell in love each other and my friend really felt guilty for this. is it an affair?

wesiati love is that people have in their heart and it's a gift. they dont do anything yet but sending messages.
