my dog has gone blind you can see the white covering his eyes is he suffering

my dog has cushing disease, the vet said it is not the cause of his blindness he is 14 yrs. old but his blindness came on so fast also he has gone deaf,, all this in a couple months, i feel so bad for him banging into everything...
