Starchon is a cross between a shooter and a real-time stategy. You can't directly decide where to place your units or which sectors to attack. However, you have a lot of indirect influence over the outcome of the game. The game is...

I really enjoyed the game once I turned on the keyboard control. I'll agree that I missed reverse thrusters, too. Maybe that's just because it seemed like every battle was going head to head with the enemy ship, both of us with guns blazing. There should be...

Hi. Long-time MT subscriber here. I'm just writing because I've noticed that one of the random backgrounds that shows up on the MT homepage is a little too fuzzy/unfocused and that it really bothers me when it shows up. The image...

Working on a redesign that won't use these background images at all. The overblown effect was deliberate (though I admit it may have been ill advised).

Anyone else fond of YA and kids novels? A couple of things I recently read and enjoyed; The City of Ember Jeanne DuPrau Two hundred years after a major cataclysm, a small city continues in the overwhelming darkness. But...

I really enjoyed the first two books of the Pullman series, but I thought he dropped the ball with the third. Where the first two were fun character-driven stories with underlying themes of intelligent social criticism, the message really supplanted character...

Heart Forth, Alicia is an upcoming platform RPG of mine that worries about creative puzzles as much as the average RPG rules. The game is set somewhere, in a ficticious magical world. You're a small wizard kid that grows to hate...

Sounds very interesting! Platform rpgs are one of my faves. What are you building this with? When are you planning on releasing something?

Hello, I purchased an account here so I could read some more ballad comic but since my subscription I haven't been able to really read anything new. If you go to the comic then go down to 10 or 11, you will see that pressing next...

That's a fine exploration, Alex! Of course the idea applies to other media as much as comics. In Vertigo, for instance, Jimmy Stewart is the voyeur observing a haunted Kim Novak in the first half, and Kim Novak is the voyeur...

I suspect that's the biggest issue - people tend to either not use message boards or just use the ones they feel they "belong" to (community). Taking a moment to provide feedback isn't something that most people do, and I only do when I'm *especially* pleased...

Sorry it takes me a while to see the longplay stuff. I loved Irrational Fears. Cool in all the big ways, like character and plot and depth, and also cool for all the little things, like Dusty having a couple of earrings after the transformation. And the line,...

Thanks, Joe! You're absolutely right that none of this is unique to comics. In fact, if/when I find the time, I'll probably be writing something about how closure is at the core of good storytelling regardless of the medium in question. Though, of course, the...
