insurectus Old scam with perhaps a slight new style. One day I receive an email like this and replied to it. I was just curious how far the scammer would go and made fun of them. I think they are smart too, he maybe realized he was just fooled and stopped replying.

GemmaR Forward the email to your local police department and they should be able to sort it out for you! Also reply to the email telling the person that you've reported it. Maybe it will scare them enough to stop doing the same thing to countless other people. So...

Just an Ordinary Owl? They offer, of course, because they don't have the money (and wouldn't transfer it if they had) but many people are basically greedy and can easily fall for a story like this. This sort of scam is far, far older than the Internet. Basically, nothing much...

Bohemian77 It's a total scam. DO a search for internet scams, and this one comes up. I get them from Nigeria, and a whole bunch of other places. They always say they want to transfer money, and ask you to help them
