We had to put our dog down 2 years ago because she could no longer stand. This was the third dog in my life that I had to put down. It is so painful. Now the family feels ready to get a new dog, but I don't know if I could handle...

zarf21 I know how you feel--I've already outlived three dogs and really physically felt my heart breaking every time. The last one--about four years ago--was especially hard; he had cancer and the last few months of his life it was pretty much 24/7 care betwwen him...
