I'll meditate, think of things I'm grateful for in life, read a good book, watch a funny movie, talk to friends or family, exercise, think of good memories, think of what I want for the future. I wouldn't call my life stressful...

Alex42692 Exercise in general helps me vent off stress. I run cross country, and I do agree that after a run I feel better. Not physically, because I'm tired, but mentally better.

Alex42692 The trait I look most for in a friend is acknowledgment. Trust comes right after that and is very important too, but I think if someone acknowledges you every once in a while then that means they do care about you.

Alex42692 That's sweet. I used to think the "good life" was all about having lots of friends no matter what, but it's not about that, not even close. From now on I choose my friends carefully, like you said, and I won't go chasing after those people who are receptive.

Alex42692 Exactly, when you neglect them it triggers a thought in their mind that says "doesn't he want to be friends?" Weird how in order to get peoples attention, you have to kind of ignore them.

Alex42692 That movie, Supersize Me, really influenced me. I didn't eat fast food on a day to day basis, but according to that movie was a heavy user because we did go to a fast food restaurant at least once or twice a week.

Alex42692 I used to waste my time with it, now I don't (and I'm so glad I learned this life lesson at the age of 16). I'm still going to try to make as many friends as I can but if they don't treat me well from the git go, I'm not going to push it.

Alex42692 That's what happened to me. I would be friends with a lot of people but they would never acknowledge me. I think they're just selfish and it makes them feel better. In school sense I'm smart and try hard people are always trying to bribe me into leting them...

Alex42692 But the question is, Is it a good role? I guess a good thing does come out of fake friends, that you get better at identifing them as they come along. I'm not addicted to popularity or anything like that.

It's summer and I'm bored, so I want to go make some new friends. Would I find lots of girls at the movie theater, YMCA (gym), park? I already find a lot at the pool. We don't have a mall in town so that is out. Thanks.
