So, what are your feelings about gifts at Christmas?
When our kids were little, I know they got way too many toys for Christmas, mostly from "Santa."
Our tradition has always been to sit in the living room and take turns opening...

Dena Miller We take our turns at Mike's Moms--her tradition. She thinks she has to buy umteen million gifts for everyone, yet says she will cut back the next year, and doesn't.
We buy for her, and we play Dirty Santa so there are two gifts for that. That is all we buy....

Well, yesterday I put on my big girl panties, cried a little and made the gut wrenching decision to have my husband transferred to long-term care. He will have no physical therapy and will just lie there until the day he dies. I...

Before any home health aides can be scheduled, my husband must go to his primary care provider and be examined. That would mean somehow managing to get him down 3 steps, into the car, out of the car, into a wheelchair, etc. I...

Dena Miller Does your town offer transit services? Our town has free vans that pick people up from their home and take them to the doctors, stores, wherever they need to go. Some vans are equipped to pick up people who need a wheelchair to get around.
Can your husband...

Cold and brisk this morning. At least there is no wind today. I am glad I don't have to go anywhere though. I think I will do my steps on my treadmill today, although that is so boring I really don't like it. I listen to podcasts...

It was such a relief to get another iPad. I can see what I’m doing online so much better. It’s very similar to my old one.
It’s been a busy week. I hope that life slows down a bit and I can get back here on Mylot more.
I hope...

Another appropriate title! You’re probably smiling because this trip is OVER! One hundred different songs to make the pop charts: some R&B, a punk or two, some with a country flavor, some unabashedly pop, and some...

I got some good deals at the thrift shop, but what is really surprising, or maybe not, is the number of school employees/teachers who were also there.
I think we thrift for two reasons: 1. Our pay check needs to stretch. 2. We...

Hubby had made himself a "tamale casserole" one day last week, and ate all he wanted at the time. Honestly enough almost to make him sick.
I had chili that I got out of the freezer. We ate some, then the rest sat waiting.
So...
