Do you like receiving gift cards or gifts itself?

I prefer to receive gift cards. With gift cards, I can buy anything that I like. Gift cards are flexible and you can choose whatever goods you want to buy. Have you ever received gift cards? What good did you buy with it?

EEYORE35 I enjoy giving and receiving both. However if you are giving a gift card how do you know what is an appropriate amount to give? If you give to little you'ra a Scrooge and if you give to much you're a show off. So what do you do?
