To have lap band surgery or not

Since I ama diabetic, losing weight does not come easy. The doctor said that I might be a candidate for the lap band surgery. I have heard many stories about having this--some very scary. I would appreciate some input. Thanks!!

HighReed1 I'm sorry I don't have any first-hand knowledge to share. I did notice when I was doing Pre-certification that there were many people going in for surgery with the doctor that specializes in the Lap-band procedure. I wouldn't see them listed for the ER...
