When holidaying abroad do you usually take advantage of local public transport?

When travelling on holiday in a foreign country, would you normally use public transport to see the the local sites and attractions or do you prefer to hire a car or take sign-up for trips organised by the hotel?

Wispa30 I would love to be in the Riviera Maya, Mexico for New Year or on the island of Koh Pang Yang in Thailand. The Thai option would be one big party and Mexico would be quite the opposite - quiet and relaxed. Both locations are favourite holiday holiday...

Wispa30 I would prefer to be cremated, I don't like the idea of rotting in the ground - in England cremations are more common and also normally the cheaper option. Nowadays in England its not uncommon for people to plan their funerals well in advance, sometimes...
