Open source programs

my question is simple: will open source programs is the way to go? there are many programs on the net has got great success due to be an open source programs, what are your thoughts?

ambreen22 well,,in short i prefer to use bought software most of the times..as they are ur property,,,but some of the open source softwares are quite good and easy to use. but u know open source softwares have less functionalities than the paid ones.
