angie2477 To make them realy tender and less fat, boil them for a few hours, then add sauce and grill in the oven, or bbq

2 question about cooking flank steak?

First of all the lady on tv is using a grill pan which I don't have. Is it ok in a fry pan? Also, is this cut of meat marked as flank steak at the store?

angie2477 flank steak can very well be cooked in a fry pan. The cut is a bit less tender than other parts.. Best results if you marinate for 4-5 hrs before, will tenderize the meat and give it a kick.

What can I substitute for corn starch

I am trying a new recipe tomorrow, and it calls for corn starch. I do not have any corn starch, but would like to make the recipe tomorrow. What can I use in place of corn starch.

angie2477 you can mix flour and butter, take the same quantity of each in grams, mix to make a sort of paste. add to your sauce, or whatever your triyng to thicken when, its at a boil.. make sure you cook for atleast 12 min, so it doesnt taste like flour. Use a small...
