I know surgery is an option. I do know there is certain food specifically for it. My cat has gotten it for a 2nd time and I'm hoping there isn't a next. The surgery is awfully expensive unfortunately. I'd like to hear all stories...

snowy @BriHennessey This is his regular diet. I would call your vet and ask for recommendations. It is Royal Canin Urinary SO. The cheapest way to get it is to have it shipped from Chewy.com. a bag will be shipped about every six weeks and it costs about 40 dollars....

scarlet_woman usually they do recommend the dietary change,not surgery.. i had 2 boys with FUS which is similar,and a diet change cleared it up.

snowy Yes, my cat has gotten them. He eats prescription catfood recommended by the vet. Milo eats Royal Canin SO and has had no more crystals since he has been on it..about two years. It is not cheap either..but a grain free alternative is supposed to be good for...
