investing for my grandchildren

What would e the best way to save money for our 6 grandchildren we're raising, ages 12 to 3. We are thinking of instead of putting money in a bank to buy real estate in there name. Tell me what you think.

My 14 yr old son will cut the grass but only after a,"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START" conversation at least 10 times.

I've seen children with tatoos and earrings I personally think it's wrong to mark a child with something that will be with them the rest of their lives...what do you think?
