daydreamer20 I like the part "you should not be unhappy with what others have but happy with what you have". In other words, one should feel content because no matter how we feel, we're a lot luckier than a lot of other people in this world.

daydreamer20 Yes, it is unhealthy but most of us cannot run away from comparing once in a while. I still believe there should be a balance. Too much of anything is unhealthy.

daydreamer20 Maybe it's because grass always looks greener on the other side? To some parents, other people's kids who score better are always better than their own kids. This can be very bad for the child's development since he/she is not appreciated well enough.

daydreamer20 Actually not many people do that. I do know few girls who love to compare their current boyfriends with their ex-boyfriends. I told them this is very unhealthy and they should just accept people who for they are.

daydreamer20 I think we should teach the younger generation how to strive to improve themselves, not to compete with others. Be content and be grateful.

daydreamer20 Thanks for sharing. It's true that sometimes, we need to compare with people who are working harder than us, and we should try to work as hard. But if you know you are just different, then comparing brings more harm than good.

Nowadays we have more and more viruses appearing out of nowhere - bird flu, H1N1, etc. In my country, we have several outbreaks in few locations and most of the cases are caused by deadly viruses and they are not H1N1 related....

daydreamer20 It is definitely not the main factor. But I believe the pollution and the global warming or green house effect do have a role to play.

daydreamer20 I do believe the media is making small things bigger, just to gain more attention. But in a way, this can be a good thing. It's always better to kick the governments and make them aware of all these things. Better do some precautionary measures before it's too...

daydreamer20 Well, we're not talking about high temperatures like 100 degree Celcius. We're talking about 30-50 degree which can be the optimum temperature for viruses. If it's 100, all of us going to die with the viruses. :)
