Can cat and dog live together?

Are cats and dogs friends or enemies only? We had cat and dog but they hated each other. However I have seen lots of pictures of cats and dogs together as friends. What do you think?

I am trying to get opinions on which copy i should buy next. Factions or Nightfall? Both seem like great games and I like PVP just as much as PVE. Also is there any others out or coming out real soon?
