OK this might seem like a very dumb question, as I am old enough to know what one is by now, but I have no idea. Can someone please explain to me what a mortgage is, and why you need a mortgage before buying a house?

gemini52981 I completely agree, if someone makes a post that could endanger someones life, or threaten someones life, I would have done the same thing. I do on occasion hit the negative symbol, but usually i will rate a positive or just not rate at all.
