For the pros out there, what are your recommended DSLRs for starters? Can you give some comparisons of the different brands and models that you would recommend? I'm like torn between Canon and Nikon here.

hellboi The cheapest deals I have found so far for a Canon 400D is from USAphotonation.com. Have you visited their site? Their cameras are way low in prices as compared to others. Do you think this is a legitimate site?

Nowadays the gravitational acceleration is aproximatley g=9.81 m/s2. Does anyone know what values did g had in Earth's geological past and how it varied along the ages?

hellboi Yeah, g is relatively different when you are situated at different points on the earth. But the difference is very slight though. Are you referring to a changing g from a fixed point due to other causes then?

Which government agency had you had your worst experience making business with? I just notice very long lines of people in almost every agency. I had a pretty bad experience with the NBI lately where I'd get my travel clearance....

hellboi Well some government agencies do have different rates for expedited processing but be sure to see if it reflects on the official reciept they give you.

hellboi I think the 300D runs at 6.8 megapixels, the 350D at 8 and the 400D at 10.1. And the 400D now costs around 800 bucks. Would you recommend getting the 400D? I mean is the megapixel difference worth the price?

hellboi Yeah you are right about the lens, the 400D has that 18 to something mm. Thanks for the comments!

hellboi Yeah thanks for reminding me about the memory card. I think it doesn't come with most of the kits and you have shell out another hundred for that. Do you know any shopping site that you could recommend?

hellboi Yeah there are too many of them and they behave like they're some kind of kings in the place and to think they don't wear uniforms and IDs. They look like they've just woke up and those forsaken agencies are there favorite hangouts.

hellboi I've also been eyeing the G7 but the size and price difference with a 400D ain't that much so I'm leaning towards getting a the 400D. Any more thoughts?

hellboi Thanks for the extensive comparisons, I'm just thinking a lot though if it would be price over megapixels. I love to have the Canon 400D but I'm not pretty sure if the pixel difference with the D40 would be worth the price difference. Can you provide more...

hellboi No, I don't have the film SLR. Talking about lenses, how do you start with it? Would the lens included in the kit offer you quite good flexibility?

hellboi Thanks for the advice! I have used point-and-shoot cameras a lot but not in a precise manner as photographers do. I just want to learn some lessons or perhaps explore on my own and I don't want to limit my learnings just because my camera has very limited...
