What is the difference between Intel Dual Core processor and Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Does it really increases the speed of your computer twice if you use a Dual core processor?

vinaynagendra both r one n d same, yes it increases computing speed as it has two cores dong the same function paralelly ensuring that processes r completed faster, it really saves power giving higher speed thus increasing computing capacities

paparaaapa Intel Dual Core = L cache size 2mb x 2 =4mb Intel Core 2 Duo = L cache size 4mb x 2 =8mb So Intel Core 2 Duo is faster, since i experienced it before, i am using ASUS P5B-Deluxe AP Edition with Core2Duo 3.4Ghz. Running windows like switching on your TV.

lameran intel core 2 duo is the new trademark of intel .. replacing pentium series ...cmiiw while dual core processor is the things that we call if in single die processor contain 2 core (2 core in single wafer silicon) .... so inte core 2 duo is dual core...

rkaede try google to find the software name "Automatix" for ubuntu. after you install that software. sure you can play all diferent type of multimedia. that "automatix" download all the plugins needed for them. ps: i think .dat file automatically can be played

thundercat Like the first guy I would have to say Ubuntu is my distrobution of choice and I recommend you check it out. If you have any problems installing stuff simply check out and do a find page search on the wiki at www.ubuntu.com.

thundercat If you want to be able to play mp3's on any distro you need to install the gstreamer plugins for mp3s. Then install a program like Amarok as the player. If you use the Ubuntu package manager and simply search for mp3 you should be able to figure it out. If...

john_sundharam The Speed of my internet connection is 256 KBPS . But the actual speed that comes to you is much less. If you use download accelrators then you will know your actual speed.
