ElicBxn It is not ABnormal. If your cat was very young or very old it is more likely than for a cat who has had litters before. I found a female and after she was in labor overnight, took her to the vets. They had to do a c-section on her to get the single kitten...

hopejordan yes my sons friend cat had 2 kittens but one of them died we had 4 kittens last week i have never heard of just on kitten born i am noy sure but i have heard of 2 kittens born god bless you

Calais Its totally normal, quite common in their first litter. I maybe would have just felt and checked her though to see if there were more, not leave it for a couple days...But if she is up an about and normal, sounds great..

pyewacket I agree with LilyoftheThorns that maybe you should get her looked over by a vet..I did have one female cat that did give birth to only one kitten...so I guess it isn't that unusual and she was fine--but the very first cat of mine that had kittens had six!

stvasile It's OK, no need for you to worry. My cat never had more than 3 kittens in a litter, usually just 2. It is common for cats to have only one kitten on their first birth.

lilaclady My friends cat gave birth to only one kitten but I think she was an old cat so maybe sometimes they do, I think maybe when they are very young this can happen too...

LilyoftheThorns I had the same problem a while ago. Except it was my sisters cat but I was still curious. I was told that a cats first pregnancy usually only produces 1 kitten, and it is compeltely safe. But just in case, maybe you could go to the vet, they could make sure...
